The recent tendency toward increasingly ample international environmental regulation has led to effects of overlapping and inconsistency among treaties, particularly as regards common spaces. The purspose of this study is to examine to what extent contemporary international treaty law provides for environmental protection within the context of the unique legal status of the Antarctic.
