This study critically examines the impact of Somalia conflict and the general security situation in Kenya and how the involvement of Kenya in Somalia affairs has worsened the situation. The main objective of this study is to critically assess Kenyäs involvement in Somalia and the challenges of border security with a failed state. The key question that the study seeks to answer is, what are the causes and consequences of Kenyäs involvement in Somalia affairs, and how has this intervention impacted on Kenyäs socio-economic front. This study also seeks to examine the failed state syndrome and its effects to the neighbouring states. In the cause of data analysis, the causes and consequences of Kenyäs intervention in Somalia is described in details. The findings of the study assert that the incursions was linked with the security threats that the Somalia state posed to Kenyan security and national interests and was also linked to creating a buffer state in southern Somalia.
